IT ALL STARTED IN 2008
Daniel Abarca, who grew up on the gorgeous island of Cozumel, Mexico, started working as an entertainer at one of Cozumel’s top resorts in 2008. There he learned how to engage a room (or rather, pool deck) of people from all over the world with humor, games, contests, conversation and hospitality. He became fluent in English and a master of bilingual shows. One fateful workday in 2014, a group of Baylor Alumna visited the resort, where he met his wife, Rachel. In 2015, he and Rachel chose to live in Waco, Texas, USA, so she could continue in her career in education, and he could fill an entertainment void that was gaping at that time. He began working with Waco Escape Rooms, then took the helm at Waco Pedal Tours. Through these ventures, he became a part of Waco’s exceptional entrepreneurial and small-business communities. The birth of his pedicab concept occurred just weeks after the birth of his second child. He wanted to fill a space in Waco entertainment for locals and visitors alike. So he offers tours and shuttling on his pedicabs, which seat 2-3 people each. Locals can see their city in an entirely new light on any of his 4 tours and visitors can see a variety of Waco’s unique, small town offerings. He also works with different small businesses downtown to provide advertising on his cabs and share these gems with his customers. Daniel builds his life and business on strong relationships with community members and visitors, and delights in the interactions of his day-to-day activities.
